Cold-formed steel framing, EPS Paneling

CFS framing

Why use Steel?

Cold-formed steel (CFS) framing offers several advantages over traditional wood framing:

  • Strength and Durability: Cold-formed steel is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, providing excellent structural integrity and durability. It offers superior resistance to warping, shrinking, and rotting compared to wood, making it ideal for long-term construction projects.

  • Consistency: CFS framing components are manufactured to  precise specifications, ensuring uniformity in dimensions and quality. This consistency leads to more predictable construction outcomes and reduces material waste.

  • Fire Resistance: Steel is inherently non-combustible, offering superior fire resistance compared to wood. CFS framing can help enhance the overall fire safety of a building and may result in lower insurance premiums.

  • Termite and Pest Resistance: Unlike wood, steel framing is not susceptible to termite infestations or damage caused by other pests, reducing the need for costly pest control measures and ensuring long-term structural integrity.

  • Dimensional Stability: Cold-formed steel framing maintains its shape and dimensions over time, even in fluctuating temperature and humidity conditions. This stability minimizes the risk of issues such as sagging floors or uneven walls, common with wood framing.

  • Design Flexibility: CFS framing allows for greater design flexibility due to its strength and versatility. It can support larger spans and higher ceilings, enabling architects and builders to create innovative and spacious interior layouts.

  • Sustainability: Steel is a highly recyclable material, and CFS framing often contains a significant portion of recycled content. Additionally, the lightweight nature of steel reduces transportation emissions and energy consumption during construction,

  • Speed of Construction: CFS framing components are typically prefabricated off-site and seamlessly assembled on-site, leading to faster construction timelines compared to traditional wood framing. This can result in cost savings and reduced labor as the construction comes together in record time.
